The year was 2014, Deb and I had planned to make a motorcycle tour of the northeastern part of the United States and follow the fall colors from Maine to North Carolina. Our mode of transportation those days was a 2000 GL1500 Honda Goldwing and a tent trailer as shown here.
Those plans got derailed by health issues. Having been long distance motorcyclists hauling a tent trailer all over north america for more than a decade, the dream of such a trip has never waned.
While the mode of transportation and the accommodations are different, we are now planning for a departure from California the first week of Sept. Replacing the Honda Goldwing will be a 2016 Chevy Colorado,

While the mode of transportation and the accommodations are different, we are now planning for a departure from California the first week of Sept. Replacing the Honda Goldwing will be a 2016 Chevy Colorado,
and replacing the tent trailer is a 2016 Rockwood High Wall A-Frame trailer.
While we will start by visiting a few friends as we work our way across the country, the plan is still to get to Maine and Nova Scotia in time to see the start of the fall color change. We will then follow the colors down the eastern part of the US through Acadia National Park, Shenandoah National Park and along the full length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Once we have reached the bottom we will turn west and begin the drive home. Once again on this leg we will be visiting friends and family along the way with a desired return date of no later than Nov 10, 2018. I hope to make this blog worth your time although the first several days will be without postings as we are merely covering ground. If you are interested in following along I would start looking for posts about the 10th of Sept. I welcome comments, so lets have some fun.
